About Sedgemoor Boats.
My popular range of traditional clinker style rowing boats are hand built in my workshop set in the beautiful West Country countryside. Whether you are looking for a new yacht tender, angling boat, a tough practical work boat or indeed just a pretty rowing boat to get out on the water and have fun with, I can help! I also build fully customised work and fishing punts as well as my more luxurious bespoke traditional Prestige leisure punts.
With over 25 years boat building experience I have the experience, passion and craftsmanship to create something you can be proud to own!
My service:
From initial enquiry through to delivery I want to make things easy for you!
Each of my boats is professionally built and finished here by myself from scratch, so from your initial enquiry through to delivery you are dealing directly with the craftsman actually building your boat. With my large workshop and efficient way of working I am able to cope with large multiple orders e.g. fisheries & hire fleets, and keep lead times down to a minimum.
Delivery:
I will deliver in person throughout the UK and can arrange door to door shipment Europe-
Built to suit you:
With my emphasis on flexibility and customisation, I am able to build you exactly what you want for your ideal boat and for a genuinely very competitive price! If you like particular features about a boat you are replacing or have a specific idea for a layout that would suit your needs best, I will happily discuss and build this for you.
Prices:
Please don’t be put off that prices are not all shown online as this is simply because they are flexible depending on options and layouts.
For pricing information please contact me, where I can talk you through the various options available making it an easy process to come up with a craft that is perfect for you. For convenience each boat is sold as a package which includes metal rowlocks and a pair of wooden oars, so when you buy a boat from me you have everything you need to get out on the water. I can also supply life jackets, trailers, launching trolleys and anything else you may require (see boat accessories).
My business and brand:
To date I am very proud to have supplied craft to the likes of The National Trust, Royal Horticultural Society, Royal Botanic Gardens, English Nature, RSPB, numerous fisheries, hire fleets, leisure parks, yacht clubs, rowing clubs, country and sporting estates, local authorities, fishermen, charity and promotional events, and of course to many highly satisfied private customers (often ordered as gifts for weddings, birthdays, retirements etc!)
As a boat and fly fishing enthusiast I am always very proud of my work and thoroughly enjoy what I do! I hope this is reflected in my workmanship and friendly customer service!
My boats:
Each of my boats is built from scratch to order so customers get the satisfaction of having something that is crafted for them personally. My boats are trimmed throughout in beautiful Iroko hardwood (superb grain and ideal for marine applications) and feature clinker style GRP (glass fibre) hulls, expertly laminated with strength and weight in mind using only Lloyds approved materials, so that you have a craft that not only looks fantastic but is tough, durable and will last! Hulls come with almost endless options in regards to colour choice. Specifications and internal layouts are flexible so we are able to offer you exactly what you want from your boat to suit needs and budget.
All materials, parts and accessories are sourced locally where possible supporting local businesses and tradesmen alike.
All craft are plated and fully compliant with Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) regulations.
My workshop:
All of my boat building tasks are undertaken in my own workshop. I do everything in house myself from plug building, mould making, all laminating, woodwork and finishing. You are welcome to arrange a time to come and visit to meet me and see my work!
